motorcycles...... O.o

Last night... We went to go look at this Harley... I want to drive.. not just ride.. but, I don't know if I'll even like driving.. so I want to try it out.. but, first I'm going to take one of those safety courses.. and the intermediate one...  just because I want to be safe.. and I would have held off on the bike.. but, this was a great deal.... and it's red :)

Anyways...  Sunday Night, I made some really healthy muffins... no sugar, no eggs, no milk... just healthy crap :)

Brownie Muffins..

1 package of sugar free devil's food cake mix
1 can of Libby's Pumpkin puree stuff

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Pour cake mix into a large bowl and whisk to remove any lumps. Add pumpkin and stir until completely smooth.

This stuff will be very thick!

line a 12 cup muffin pan with liners and use an ice cream scoop to scoop the batter into the liners... Place pan in the oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean, about 20 minutes.

Allow to cool slightly and then serve!

George Jones

I'm sorry to know he is gone...

Who's Gonna Fill His Shoes?

You know this old world is full of singers
But just a few are chosen
To tear your heart out when they sing
Imagine life without them
All your, radio heros
Like the outlaw that walks through Jesse's dream

No, there will never be another
Red-headed stranger
A Man in Black and Folsom Prison Blues
The Okie from Muskogee
Or Hello Darling
Lord I wonder, who's gonna fill their shoes

Who's gonna fill their shoes
Who's gonna stand that tall
Who's gonna play the Opry
And the Wabash Cannonball
Who's gonna give their heart and soul
To get to me and you
Lord I wonder, who's gonna fill their shoes

God bless the boys from Memphis
Blue Suede Shoes and Elvis
Much too soon he left this world in tears
They tore up the Fifties
Old Jerry Lee and Charlie
And old Go Cat Go still echoes through the years

You know the heart of country music
Still beats in Luke the Drifter
You can tell when hew sings I Saw the Light
Old Marty, Hank and Lefty
Why I can feel them right here with me
On this Silver Eagle rolling through the night

Who's gonna fill their shoes
Who's gonna stand that tall
Who's gonna play the Opry
And the Wabash Cannonball
Who's gonna give their heart and soul
To get to me and you
Lord I wonder, who's gonna fill their shoes

Yes I wonder, who's gonna fill their shoes?..

This is how My Trip to Tunica started..
Zeus ate my hat.. my brand new Houston texas hat...
while I was in the shower....

Ask me how mad I was.... I was T-Totally pissed off at that dog...

So I took them to the pound.. that's exactly what I told him.. I said "that's it I'm taking you to the pound".

Maya and Zeus knew that I was off somewhere... and I guess they knew they weren't going.. but, I sure did tell him that I would have went with them.. IF he would not have eaten my brand new 10x hat....

That should have been a hint to me of what was was to come in Tunica..

well.. I left out to Atlanta on Tuesday night after work.. and I got to Atlanta around 10pm.. to find a traffic jam where 2-85 hits 75.. the whole friggen exit ramp was closed and I was in the corvette and shifting gears and changing lanes...

Moral of this story is I was on a steep hill.. and I stalled out.. hahahaha

I finally made it to my friends house.. where I hate pizza and some wine and had this amazing pineapple pizzaz hot sauce from the virgin islands.. and man it was good.. :)

so I woke up the next day... and headed out towards Alabama..

I got through Alabama doing about 120 most of the way and getting great gas mileage... hahah.. the picture is shaky because, I tried to snap the picture fast while I was driving I didn't want to take both hands off the wheel at the present moment... hahahah

By the Time I hit Mississippi I slowed down a bit.. the yeller roads were just weird to look at.. but, I made excellent time.. 4 hours and 28 minutes from Atlanta to Tunica, Ms. :)

I learned how to drive this bad boy pretty good by this time :)

Once I got to the arena, I found my cowboy and said hello to a few people then saddled ole Maggie Mae up.. and headed to the warm up arena to get ready to shoot the eliminator.. This is actually a picture of me during the eliminator..  Maggie was not on my good list after that...  she took a notion to follow a bird the other direction and not to where I was steering her....  (I think she was mad at me for leaving her alone with the boys.... Clint and Tatttoo)

And then after that little bobble... Maggie and I headed to have a coming to Jesus talk.. which I didn't think would end the way it did... but, It ended with her and I both on the ground..
It was like someone knocked her feet right out from under her...
I mean I've taken falls and spills on horses.. doing various things... and usually you have time to think.. Oh shit this is gonna hurt.... well No.. I was tooling along.. la la la BAM in the dirt... I landed hands and knees on the ground.. turned around to see her.. and she had all four feet up in the air on her left side... she rolled up on her stomach and looked at me and I swear that mare said "what the hell did you do that for" but, I was giving her the same exact look...
Checking on Maggie one night.. she was laid out in her stall
well I dusted myself off and her.. and we went back to the stalls.. I checked her over real good.. and that was that... I was out of the eliminator due to her bobble.. I was 11th in the cut.. which was cut off at 10..... I was real pissed at her..So, The next day I thought we were on fire... first stage was awesome..get outside to the outdoor arena.. and BAM 40mph winds and bad storms coming in...it was horrible... so I just want to say that my trip to Tunica.. was a flop.. I didn't win anything.. and Neither did my cowboy...

The trip home was uneventful.. I was ready to go home about the same time I got there..
I guess we will try our luck at another championship in June.. it's a Colt Eastern US thing... So we shall see how that goes :)

Maggs and Me getting gone

So once I was home.. I was a happy girl.. I missed my dogs and my chickens...
and the babies I have let them out to roam free with the rest of the chickens..
They seem really happy and they have been hanging out with Betsy and Dominick the Rooster..

This morning they came running across the yard to me...
It's amazing how quick they learn who feeds them in the mornings.. :)

I reckon that is all that's new around here..

Talk to Y'all soon..

Older and Wiser?

Tuesday Morning, I woke up with a slight tooth ache.. about a 2/10 on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst...

Well by the end of the day Tuesday.. I couldn't open my mouth all the way to eat an apple...

So That evening I texted one of my dentists office staff... and asked her if I could come in..
She called the doctor and he said he couldn't see me that evening because his son was getting married and they were doing some wedding stuffs...
which I totally understood...
so I set up for 1pm the next day...
I go to sleep Tuesday night and I dreamed about pulling that tooth out myself.. and I kept waking up due to pain.. It got bad in a hurry..
Wednesday Morning I woke up with the worst tooth ache ever.... I couldn't open my mouth at all! It was horrible.. My cheek was all swollen and I didn't eat breakfast.. and let me tell you what.. big girl over here likes to eat her breakfast.... I instead sucked on orange slices....
Well I went to work.. worked my shift.. then headed to the dentist.. with my father...
They took a x-ray of my tooth.. and then when the Doctor walked in.. he said.. "it needs to go".. I quickly told him that if he didn't take it out, I was going to take it out..
So he had to shoot me up with Novocain just so I could open my mouth enough for him to get to this joker..
he said that my tooth was growing towards my mandible and that's why I couldn't open my mouth...
which I totally could see on x-ray...
he pulled that joker out.. and I was so relieved...  they packed me up and sent me on my way... and once I got to the check out counter.... I about passed out.. I started seeing black spots and feeling nauseous.. so I had to sit down.. then I think I might have looked a little pale, because they made me go lay down and put cold compresses on my face...  about 30 minutes later.. I was all set.. I had my father drive me home and I went straight to sleep...
I woke up Thursday feeling pretty darn good... my face is still a little puffy.. but, I feel much better...
I didn't get any pain pills.. and I didn't need any antibiotics.. so I was happy about that :)

Left alone

Well, My Cowboy headed out to Tunica without me on Friday morning... and where did I go after work? to the Corvette dealership.... lol....
Seriously.. I said goodbye to the first car I ever officially bought on my own...

I was going to miss it... but, Not bad enough to not like the one I traded it in for...

Its a 6 speed and torch red... and has 3900 miles... and it's mine :)
I drove that bad boy home... and that's that.. :)
I'm in heaven... and trying to get used to driving a 6 speed... lol

That night.. My father and I went to go see Ricky Skaggs... I was so excited he was playing a lot of his old stuff :)  He played cajun moon, heartbreak, Highway 40 blues and some other great stuff...  So I went down after the theatre cleared out and I bought his new cd he just came out with and a bluegrass dedication to some of the great hits of 1945-47...  and then it happened.. I met him... :)  All the years I've been going to see him in concert I've never met him... I was excited...  what a wonderful weekend... I mean it...  I am so very blessed...
but I also know that I worked my butt off for 6 years in school....

Another North Carolina Weekend..

Friday My Mother and I went to Spartanburg, and we shopped a little, then went to Costco.. which was what we originally went there for... well..  On our way back to the ranch, we decided to use one of the giftcards my mother had gotten for starbucks.. so we looked and looked for a starbucks, then Finally found one in a barnes and nobles bookstore...
I get in there.. and my mom orders some double whipped chunked topped and covered something or another.. and It was my turn.. I was looking at the guy behind the counter like a cow looking at a new gate.. and I said... well... I want espresso.. and the fella said.. that I could get an espresso this way and that way.. and frozen frappuchino something or another.. and I finally went for a iced 4 shot espresso latte....
well.. the drive home after that was awesome.. I was bouncing off the walls and speeding.. we got home around 8pm.. and My cowboy was ready to relax for the evening.. and I was wired....
I was looking around the house for stuff to do.. and I came to the conclusion that the extra last shot of espresso had given me unrealistic expectations of productivity...
I think I will stay away from espresso... or I was thinking that until I saw the commercial for that nespresso machine... I want one of those so bad..
what a pot of coffee can do for me.. 2 shots of espresso have me going....
Saturday.... we got up and going and headed to a jackpot shoot in Charlotte...On the way there... My Cowboy saw Taco Bell.. and decided we should go try those new tacos...  We roll up in there and get to waiting in line.. and it's finally our turn and... I was standing there.. Minding my own business... Like a cowgirl does...I was ordering a quesadilla for the dogs and a couple of those cool ranch locos Los tacos Los bueno taco whatever they are called thingies and these two girls started screaming behind the counter.. The whole place got real quiet.... I was looking at the girl yelling and her dern jugular vein was popping out.. chick was ticked off about something... and from what I gather... I think it was over the fact that this other girl used too much sour cream on a chalupa or something..
Those taco was pretty good.. I had one and smothered it in Hot sauce.. hahaha
The rest of the weekend was relatively uneventful.. Had a great time hanging out with some friends I haven't seen in a while and making new friends with some people from the north east.. yankees we refer to them as.. but, they are a great group of people...
And Sunday night... we were driving home and my cowboy told me that he bought Tim for me..
I about cried..
and I say this because my friend and I were looking at him.. and I was explaining to her that he was a cull paint horse.. and no one wanted him.. and he's a daisy cutter trotter, because I watched him get lunged.. And I thought he would make a good jumping horse.. he's just broke and he's a sweet heart and only 4..
and I said Tim is a sucky name for him... and I was explaining that he's such a sweetheart, too bad I had a love named Romeo.... and I'll be stuck with lightning.. if that joker didn't look over at us and neigh really loud....  So we nicknamed him Redneck Romeo that day....  I am so blessed :)

Now If y'all don't know.. Romeo was the love of my life.. (until I met my cool tall handsome drink of water cowboy)  Romeo and I grew up together.. we did everything.. and I had to put him down some years back in April..

Oh.. and I'm loving my new office hours...  This morning, I had the vet out, had him give me health papers for my horses, then got their shots...  Cleaned my big laundry room, washed the dishes, boiled eggs, made deviled eggs and egg salad.  put a roast in the crock pot rode Kismet.. and took a shower and got to work by 1:30pm  :)

Kismet this morning

Porch sittin'

Ahhhh. Relaxing on the front porch after a long day at work....
Drinking some tea.. Eating some grapes.....
I sure did miss this porch sittin' weather...
