Panna Cotta Brain
3 (12 oz) cans evaporated milk
4 (1/4 oz) packages unflavored powdered gelatin
1 1/2 C heavy whipping cream
1 C sugar
2 tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
2 oz Jack Daniels Fire Whiskey
In a medium sized heat-safe mixing bowl, whisk together the 4 envelopes of gelatin and one can of evaporated milk.let this sit to the side for about 5 minutes (or more).
Pour the other cans of evaporated milk and whipping cream into a heavy sauce pan. mix and Slowly bring to a boil.
Add sugar, salt, and whiskey and whisk until it is all dissolved.
pour boiling milk mixture into the gelatin-evaporated milk mixture.
Stir in vanilla extract.
Pour mixture into your brain mold and refrigerate overnight.
Now, You can do a few different things here to glaze it... Shown in this picture is blood made out of red food coloring... and rub it into the gyri of the brain.. Or you can use cranberry juice to make blood.
For Cranberry Blood:
8 oz cranberry juice
2 tbsp cornstarch
In a small saucepan, combine cranberry juice and cornstarch.
Bring gently to a boil. and Keep stirring until thickened.
Remove from heat and allow to come to room temperature. Stir with a wire wisk.
Spoon it over the set unmolded brain.
